The beach in Knokke-Heist is about 10 km long, from the Zwin estuary to just the port of Zeebrugge and has a lot to offer. During your stay at our Bed & Breakfast Aquavit you can enjoy the beach. We are within walking distance of the seaside and the beach.
Basking in the sun
Relax for a couple of days at the beach on one of the many beach bars, where you can rent beach chairs and parasols between Easter and October 15. The beach bars rent out sun loungers and parasols and you can have a drink on their beachside terraces with your feet in the sand. During your stay in our B&B Aquavit you can book a sun lounger at one of the beaches, like Lichttorenstrand.
Beach walks
Walking along the beach is wonderful and not only during the summer. In spring, autumn and winter, you can also enjoy beautiful beach walks. You do not need the sun for a nice walk along the beach during an autumn storm and have afterwards a coffee in one of the many establishments and tea rooms along the seafront.
Surfing and sailing
The North Sea coast in Knokke-Heist is a mecca for water sportsmen. Golfing, windsurfing, kite surfing or sailing. You park your cars along the seaside, you throw your gear in the water and you have hours of surfing pleasure. You can also visit one of the many surf and sailing clubs in Knokke-Heist to meet fellow surfers or sailors. You can take lessons, rent material, or just share stories and experiences in their bar.
Shark teeth
Along the beach of Knokke you can also find fossil shark teeth. A shark gets about 10,000 teeth in its life and 30 million years ago there were many sharks in our waters. Due to storms, these shark teeth are released from the sandstone and wash onto the . It's a great souvenir if you can find one!
